PuffinMail for WooCommerce

Email marketing built for WooCommerce

The free PuffinMail plugin connects your WooCommerce store in one step. Customers, orders and carts sync in the background, so abandoned-cart reminders, birthday offers and newsletters go out from your own domain.

  • Free plugin
  • Works with the block checkout
  • No per-contact fees
What the plugin does

Your store’s data, working for you

Everything syncs in the background, so it never slows down your shop, and nothing is lost if PuffinMail is briefly unreachable.

  • Sign-ups with proof of consent

A newsletter checkbox at checkout and in My Account records the wording, time and IP address of every sign-up. It works with the block checkout too.

  • Abandoned-cart reminders

A reminder an hour after a cart goes quiet and another a day later (you choose the timing), with a link that restores the cart and an optional single-use coupon.

  • Birthday offers

An email on each customer’s birthday with a unique coupon from your store, created by the plugin.

  • Segments from real orders

Target customers by number of orders, total spent and last order date, using your actual WooCommerce order history.

  • Products in your emails

Your catalogue syncs with prices, images and stock, so emails can show products and bestsellers that are always up to date.

  • Pop-ups and browse abandonment

The plugin adds the PuffinMail website script, which shows your sign-up forms and pop-ups, records product views for browse-abandonment emails and recognises signed-in customers.

  • Your discount codes

The plugin shares your store’s discount codes with PuffinMail, so pop-ups can offer a real code after sign-up.

  • Unsubscribes stay in sync

Someone who unsubscribes from an email is unsubscribed in WooCommerce too, and the other way round.

Getting started

Connect your store in four steps

  1. Start your free trial

Create your account, choose a plan and add your sending domain. It’s free for 14 days.

  2. Install the plugin and paste your key

Install the PuffinMail plugin on your WordPress site, then paste the store key from PuffinMail under WooCommerce › Settings › PuffinMail.

  3. Sync your history

Click “Sync last 12 months” to bring in your existing customers and orders. The sync doesn’t subscribe or email anyone.

  4. Switch on your emails

Edit the ready-made abandoned-cart and birthday emails in PuffinMail, then turn them on.

Questions

Which versions of WooCommerce does it support?

WordPress 6.3 or later, WooCommerce 8.0 or later and PHP 7.4 or later, with the classic or the block checkout.

Will it slow down my shop?

No. The plugin queues changes and sends them in the background, so checkout and admin pages never wait for PuffinMail. If PuffinMail can’t be reached for a moment, it tries again later.

Who receives abandoned-cart emails?

By default, only customers who subscribed to your newsletter; you can change that in the plugin’s settings. Carts are remembered once the shopper is signed in or has typed their email at checkout, and a cart that’s bought or emptied never gets a reminder.

Can I bring my existing subscribers?

Yes. Import a spreadsheet of your subscribers, including when each person signed up, and sync your WooCommerce customers and orders from the last 12 months.

What does it cost?

The plugin is free. PuffinMail plans start at $9.95 AUD a month, priced by the emails you send, with unlimited contacts and a 14-day free trial.
