Sign-up forms & pop-ups

Pop-ups that grow your list, in your store’s look

Turn visitors into subscribers with pop-ups and in-page forms that match your website. Start from a template or let PuffinMail design two from your own logo, colours and pictures, then choose who sees them and when.

  • Spin to win wheel
  • Exit intent and scroll triggers
  • Views, sign-ups and conversion per form
What you get

Everything a sign-up form needs

Forms are shown by the PuffinMail website script, which the WooCommerce plugin and Magento extension add for you.

  • Match my website

PuffinMail reads your store’s logo, colours, fonts and pictures and designs two forms in your look. Change the layout, colours, pictures and blocks as you like.

  • Spin to win

Visitors sign up and spin a wheel for a prize code, with 3 to 8 prizes and bright or casino-style themes. Every slice is a prize, and the same email always wins the same prize.

  • A discount code after sign-up

Show a code from your store once someone subscribes. PuffinMail checks each code against your store’s shared discount codes.

  • Shown at the right moment

Open a pop-up after a delay, on exit intent (on computers) or after scrolling. Limit it to certain pages, devices, new or returning visitors, or visitors from a given source.

  • Never pestering subscribers

By default pop-ups aren’t shown to people already on the list, or to visitors who closed them. Visitors see one pop-up a visit at most: the most targeted one.

  • Names and birthdays

Ask for a first name and a birthday (day and month). Subscribers who give a birthday get your birthday email on the day, with an optional birthday code.

  • Results per form

Views, sign-ups and conversion for the last 30 days, which known contacts have seen each form, and when the website script last reported from your store.

  • Consent on record

People tick a consent box, and PuffinMail stores the wording, time and IP address of every sign-up, as Australia’s Spam Act expects.

  • Straight into your welcome series

New subscribers start your “someone subscribes” automations, so a welcome email can go out straight away.

Getting started

Live on your store in minutes

  1. Connect your store

Install the free WooCommerce plugin or the Magento 2 extension. It adds the PuffinMail website script to every page.

  2. Pick a design

Choose a template, one of your saved designs, or Match my website, and adjust it in the designer with a live preview.

  3. Choose who sees it

Set when the pop-up opens and which pages, devices and visitors it’s for, then switch it on.

Questions

Will a pop-up slow down my store?

No. The website script is small (about 4 KB) and loads asynchronously, so your pages never wait for it.

Can I use a form inside a page instead of a pop-up?

Yes. A form can be a pop-up or an in-page form placed where you want it on a page.

Does the website script use cookies?

It sets one first-party cookie (pm_vid) for a year to recognise returning visitors. Mention it in your store’s privacy policy.

Can I write my own HTML?

Yes. Forms can include a block of your own HTML alongside the designer’s blocks.
