Emails that send themselves, at the right moment
Automations are flows of emails that start on their own: when someone subscribes, when something happens in your store, or when a customer starts matching your rules. Start from a ready-made flow and make it yours.
- Five ready-made flows
- Waits, conditions and A/B splits
- Revenue per email
Start with the flows that work
Each one comes with its emails written and its timing set. Edit the words and design, change the timing, or build your own from scratch.
Welcome series
A welcome straight away when someone subscribes, then your favourite products two days later.
Post-purchase thank you
Three days after each completed order, thank the customer and invite them back.
Win-back
Customers who haven’t ordered for 90 days get a reminder, and a second one a week later if they still haven’t.
Browse abandonment
Someone looked at a product on your website but didn’t buy: two hours later, remind them of it.
Sunset unengaged subscribers
Ask people who stopped opening whether they want to stay, and unsubscribe those who don’t respond within a week. It keeps bounces and spam complaints down.
Abandoned cart and birthday
Your store’s cart reminders and birthday offers run alongside, with coupons generated by your store.
Flexible when you need it
Triggers from your store
Start a flow when someone subscribes, places an order, abandons a cart or views a product, or when they start matching a segment’s rules.
Steps that branch
Email, Wait, Condition (a yes/no split), A/B split and Unsubscribe steps. Choose whether people go through once or every time it triggers.
Safe changes to live flows
Edit a running flow and publish when ready. People part-way through finish the version they started.
Products filled in when sent
Product blocks show one product or a row of bestsellers, newest or on-sale items, with prices and photos from your catalogue at the moment each email goes.
Smart sending
Nobody gets more than one marketing email in a set number of hours (16 by default). Automation emails to them are skipped while the rest of the flow carries on.
See what each email earns
Opens, clicks and the paid orders that followed a click on each email, within 5 days.
Your first flow in three steps
Connect your store
Install the free WooCommerce plugin or the Magento 2 extension, so orders, carts and product views reach PuffinMail.
Pick a ready-made flow
Choose a flow, check its emails and timing, and adjust them to your store.
Switch it on
Activate it. A rules trigger can also start people who already match.
Questions
Who receives automation emails?
Marketing automations only email subscribers. People who unsubscribed, bounced or marked you as spam are always left out.
Does browse abandonment need anything extra?
It needs the PuffinMail website script on your store, which the WooCommerce plugin and the Magento extension add for you. Visitors are recognised when they arrive from one of your emails or are signed in to your store.
Do imported contacts start the welcome series?
No. Imported people don’t start “someone subscribes” automations, so your existing list isn’t welcomed all over again.
